TEAM DRILL- Hit the Edge
This drill aims to get players moving and thinking! Players need to utilise decision making, preliminary movement, timing, strong passes and spatial awareness.
1. Define a space (half a third).
2. Players must 'hit' a line or edge before moving strongly to the ball. Players must be aware of other players, timing, space and movement.
3. Depending on age/ability, give players 30sec or 1 minute to work towards. Give feedback.
4. Go again for another round of 30sec or 1 minute.
5. Make the space bigger, allow for more openness, longer leads and strong shoulder passes. Repeat for 30sec or 1 minute.
6. Set a team goal to finish off the drill, 10 well executed passes.
Variations:
